Now playing are three great movies for family entertainment!
In an age where “R” rated almost seems the norm and violence all around us, it’s nice to know there are options for safe family viewing. This weekend there are three great movies to choose from; The Muppets, Hugo, and Arthur Christmas.
It’s been over 10 years since we have seen those cuddly Muppets on the big screen, but according to many critics.. it’s been worth the wait! Staring Jason Segel and Amy Adams, you’re sure to laugh and find great entertainment as the gang of Muppets go about their adventures. There are also a number of cameos, featuring great talent such as Emily Blunt, Neil Patrick Harris, and Jack Black.
Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese releases a family movie called Hugo… yes you read that correctly, Martin Scorsese released a family movie. What an amazing combination.. an Oscar-winning director and a critically acclaimed novel! Don’t take my word for it though, Roger Ebert gives this movie 4 out of 4 stars, saying “unlike any other film Martin Scorsese has ever made, and yet possibly the closest to his heart.” This movie stars Jude Law, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Asa Butterfield.
Lastly, but certainly not least is Arthur Christmas. Brought to you by the same people who created “Wallace and Gromit,” this fantastic movie is about a man and his elfish assistants, and how they deliver millions of gifts around the world in a single night. Staring the voices of James McAvoy, Hugh Laurie, and Jim Broadbent. The New York Times calls this film “smart” and “scrappy.”
Got nothing to do with the kids this weekend? Consider one of these great movies.. or all three if you have time!
